KERTTULA, 4*. 7 (5+2) 1 KM TO GROCERY, ONLY 120 KM FROM HELSINKI

Kerttula is a cozy and very traditional Finnish holiday cottage, located in a quiet location on the shore of lake Vesijärvi in the village of Hollola KK. The drive from Lahti is about 20 minutes and from Helsinki about an hour. The cottage is suitable for a maximum of 7 people, but the best configuration is 4-5 overnight guests at once.

The house has e.g. 3 bedrooms, spacious living room, well-equipped kitchen, separate toilet, shower, sauna, washing machine, TV and fireplace. Outside, there is a covered terrace and a separate patio, renovated in 2023, with nature views directly over the lake. The yard is equipped with a barbecue and a separate campfire site on the shore. The wood-heated lakeshore sauna, which received new surfaces in 2023, is in use during the summer. The yard of the cottage is sheltered and flat.

In Kirkonlahti bay, where Kerttula is located, you can easily catch fish and there is a lot of it, so the cabin is perfect for fishermen. The house is located in a Natura 2000 nature reserve and here you can meet many rare birds, fish and animals. The forest surroundings are excellent for mushroom picking, and with good luck you can even find porcinis right in the yard of the cottage.

Services can also be found nearby. For example, a grocery store, a couple of local restaurants, a summer cafe, a summer kiosk, the Kapatuosia hill's magnificent observation tower and a children's playground are located within a 10-minute walk. The Messilä skiing and golf center is located about 10 minutes away by car. At approximately the same distance, you can also find the high-quality outdoor large trail network of Salpausselkä with its nature attractions (e.g. Pirunpesä canyon, the trail of three bogs) and campfire places. 

In theory, it is also possible to have a vacation in Kerttula without a car, as the bus stop is only a 10-minute walk from the cottage.​
